The North American Architectural Woodwork Standards have been adopted and published jointly effective July 1, 2016, as the successor, replacement and latest edition of the Architectural Woodwork Standards, Edition 2. For jobs bid on or after July 1, 2016, with specifications calling for the AWS “latest edition,” NAAWS will apply. Projects bid prior to this date, but on or after Oct. 1, 2014, use AWS2.
The North American Architectural Woodwork Standards replaced AWS, edition, as of July 1, 2016. Information on AWS 2 is available as a historic reference by contacting the Woodwork Institute.
