How to become an affiliate with Woodwork Institute.

Affiliation with the Woodwork Institute

There are three types of Woodwork Institute Affiliates:

AMC and CMP affiliates…

  • have proven mastery of the North American Architectural Woodwork Standards
  • display the Woodwork Institute logo on company brochures, ads, business cards, etc.
  • provide architects with advanced credentials through licensure
  • receive discounts on certification fees
  • self-certify CCP projects

Not an affiliate, but you have a project that specifies a Woodwork Institute Certification Program?

Don’t worry, Affiliation is not required! Work with your local Architectural Services Representative to complete certification if you are not licensed with us.

Accredited Millwork Company

    Traditional Pathway

    Accredited Millwork Company (AMC) affiliation is available to those firms with a minimum of 3 years’ experience, primarily engaged in the fabrication, distribution, brokering, and/or installation of architectural millwork products within the continental United States and meeting the licensure requirements shown on the application. The traditional pathway requires a more extensive licensure process, including letters of reference and review of multiple jobs showing compliance to NAAWS.

      Streamlined Pathway

      Introduction Affiliation Process for Accredited Millwork Company (AMC) affiliation is available to firms within the USA with a minimum of 3 years membership with AWI as part of the QCP program. This process reduces the application steps by recognizing the credential process as being similar to what is required by Woodwork Institute.

      Certified Millwork Professional

        Certified Millwork Professional (CMP) affiliation is available to individuals that prove superior industry knowledge, experience and management of millwork projects and shall be knowledgeable in all aspects of the North American Architectural Woodwork Standards (NAAWS) and the Woodwork Institute policies and procedures.

        Millwork Industry Partner

          Millwork Industry Partner (MIP) affiliation is available to individuals, companies, or associations primarily engaged in the supplying of goods and services to Accredited Millwork Companies.
