The CMP Exam is designed to ensure that you have the requisite knowledge to be a Certified Millwork Professional and, as an open book examination, to assist you in becoming familiar with the abundance of information in the North American Architectural Woodwork Standards and the Woodwork Institute’s Programs & Services Manual.
To become a Certified Millwork Professional for an Accredited Millwork Company, you must pass the exam with an 85% or better score.
All tests are designed to ensure that a firm’s representative has the requisite knowledge to be a Certified Millwork Professional and, as an open book examination, to assist that representative in becoming familiar with the abundance of information in the following documents:
A few notes before you begin:
- The exam consists of a set of 249 questions randomly drawn from a database of more than 750 questions.
- The exam is organized by pages into categories based on sections of NAAWS and the Programs & Services Manual. The category is noted at the top of the page.
- The order of the available answers to each question is randomized.
- You do not have to take the exam in one sitting. You can click the “Save” button to save your work and return later to work on the exam further. You will see a message verifying that your work has been saved.
- To flag a question for review prior to test submission, click the exclamation point. You will be prompted to review the flagged questions before you submit the exam.
- When your exam is submitted, you will see your results. You will also receive an email with your results, and your results will be emailed to the Woodwork Institute.
