Awards honor all project participants: Architects, Interior Designers, Woodworkers and General Contractors
Ralph B. McClure Craftsmanship Award
The Woodwork Institute’s Ralph B. McClure Craftsmanship Award recognizes a certified project for its exceptional craftsmanship and/or installation of architectural millwork.
Bernard B. Barber Jr. Award for Design Excellence
The Woodwork Institute’s Bernard B. Barber Jr. Award for Design Excellence honors a certified project for the execution of exceptional design in which the architectural millwork is a predominant feature.
Awards are not limited to any specific category of building nor any specific areas within the structure.
Winning entries will be:
- Shared with the Woodwork Institute’s more than 8,000 email subscribers.
- Displayed on a custom wrapped gallery canvas print that will be sent to the fabricator, architect, and general contractor.
- Featured on the Woodwork Institute website.
- Highlighted in the Woodwork Institute’s social media channels.
- Waived affiliation dues for one Accredited Millwork Company per award for 2027.
How to Enter
Applications may be submitted by any design professional or Woodwork Institute affiliate that was contractually tied to the project; however, project specifications must have required Woodwork Institute’s Certified Compliance Program™ or Monitored Compliance Program™ within 18 months of the application.
Each application must also include at least six high-resolution digital images of the project, an architect/designer’s statement, and a woodworker’s statement. At least one image should be 300 dpi at 30 inches wide and 20 inches tall.
Award-winning entries become the property of the Woodwork Institute for unrestricted use.
Applications can be submitted year-round and must be received by October 1, 2026 to be considered for that year’s awards.
