The North American Architectural Woodwork Standards (NAAWS) requirements for roller and ball-bearing slides are shown in section 10.5.1.8.1 through 10.5.1.8.2.4.
Drawers 24″ or less in width (either roller or ball-bearing): 50lb for pencil drawers, 75lb for general purpose and 100lb for file drawers.
Drawers over 24″ in width (ball-bearing only): 50lb for pencil drawers, 75lb for general purpose, 150lb for lateral files less than 30″ in width, and 200lb for lateral files over 30″ in width.
